In his early 20's, he started with an idea and one bus. It worked. Ivan Moore quickly turned his party bus business into a success in Wichita. Now at the age of 32, he says he's ready for a new challenge.
Moore just sold his company to his competitor.
Weddings, proms and bachelorette parties, the Unified Party Bus has been there for all of them.
When Ivan Moore started the company almost nine years ago in his early 20s, he had no idea it would take off like it has: 9 buses, 14 drivers and hundreds of trips to different locations around the city.
The pace tired him out, especially since many times he took the wheel. "About a year ago, I started to feel like I was getting a little burned out, it wasn't a challenge anymore. As an entrepreneur, I love the climb and the fight that goes with it," says Moore.
So he sold the company to one of his competitors, Spot's Party Bus. They say they're not planning on making too many changes since everyone knows Ivan's brand.
"When we would talk about party buses, everybody related party buses to Unified Party Bus," says CJ Owens, Operations Manager.
Many wonder what Moore will do now. "I had nine different people call me to go into business with them and invest in some way," says Moore, laughing.
But for now, the husband and father says it will just be family that fills a 14 passenger bus. It's his only keepsake from his days as the party bus driver.
