"At the end, I even sat by the bed, took her hand and prayed for her," said Raegan Shepherd.
A little sister described the scene Saturday as her sister received one of her dying wishes.
Tia Shephard was diagnosed with an incurable disease that has left her deaf and without the use of her limbs for most of her life.
Doctors say she doesn't have much longer to live so her family is helping the teen to cross things off on her bucket list.
"We trust that she will be with you for an eternity, we thank you for it, in Jesus' name, amen," prayed Dan Chanowski.
A young girl, terminally ill, received one of her dying wishes: to be baptized.
"John 3:16 says, for God so loved the world, he gave his one and only son," said Chanowski
The small room at Via Christi hospital on St. Francis was packed with family, friends and hospital staff. Everyone wanted to witness the blessing.
Both Tia and her sister Meriah suffer from a degenerative disease that doctors cannot diagnose. Tia has spent most of her life deaf and unable to use most of her body.
Doctors say she's near the end so Tia is crossing things off her bucket list.
Thursday she received a Yorkie that she named Thor, one of her wishes.
Saturday, she became the first child in her family to receive the Holy Spirit. Her father, James Shepherd, took communion for Tia, since she could not.
"Knowing that I'm doing something, that I took that step, knowing that she...it's just a lot of feeling, lot of emotion," said Shepherd.
Next on Tia's list, hopefully meeting Taylor Swift. Tia has a song she's working on, another thing on that bucket list.
Tia was in serious condition at Via Christi on St. Francis Saturday.
