Michael co-anchors Eyewitness News at Five. He is also a FactFinder 12 Investigator.

Michael began his broadcasting career in Dodge City, KS where he anchored and reported for KBSD.  He came to Wichita in December of 2000 and began at KWCH as a general assignment reporter.  He spent several years on the crime beat and was weekend anchor for five years before moving to the 5:00 p.m. where he co-anchors with Cindy Klose.

Michael has won various awards including the national Edward R. Murrow for continuing coverage of the Carr brothers’ murder trial. He was recently awarded a regional Edward R. Murrow for his investigative reporting exposing abuses at a Wichita dental clinic for children.

Covering Kansas news is important to Michael. He grew up Colby and graduated from Fort Hays State University.

“Kansas is where I belong.  I’m proud to be a Kansan,” says Michael.

Michael has covered some of the biggest events in Kansas in his 10 years at KWCH including the Greensburg tornado, the BTK serial killer, and the Carr brothers’ murder trial.

When he’s not working you’ll likely find Michael spending time with his wife, Tenille, and their two little girls.

He also like to work in his yard and spend time at the lake with his family.
