Cindy Klose co-anchors Eyewitness News at Five, Six and Ten weeknights.
Before joining the Eyewitness News team in 1991, Cindy worked as an anchor at CNN Headline News in Atlanta, Georgia. She started her journalism career at WCIA television in Champaign, Illinois and briefly taught Journalism classes at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Cindy is a graduate of Murray State University where she was active in student produced news broadcasts and the school newspaper. Cindy also worked as a disc jockey at the commercial radio station in Murray, Kentucky, WNBS, but her favorite college job was as statistician for the broadcasts of Murray State Racer football and basketball. Cindy considered a job as a sports reporter until she was told people would never accept sports news from a woman!
Instead she started as a General Assignment reporter covering whatever news was happening. She also produced newscasts at WCIA and hosted a weekly public affairs program. She became co-anchor of the 6 and 10pm news two years after starting in Champaign.
Cindy still approaches the news as she did when she first started more than 30 years ago-find out as much as you can about a story, then pick the most interesting elements to share with viewers. She loves the internet age and ability to read research any topic quickly. Cindy is always looking for that one story each day that you want to share with your friends..."did you hear about...."
Cindy grew up in a military family so she's lived in or visited almost every state and a few countries. Her favorite spot is on the beach with a good book.
Friends know Cindy as a healthy eater and exerciser who enjoys running, tennis, yoga and weight lifting but her favorite activity is hanging out with her husband and kids.
