As Eyewitness News This Morning's Traffic Reporter and one half of the KSCW Crew, Katie has to have a pulse on Kansas traffic and culture. Born and raised in Wichita, she already knows the map and many of the people by heart.
Katie grew up around family and made life-long friends at Collegiate, but left Kansas after high school to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, hoping to pursue a career in medicine. Katie then moved to Kansas City to study for and take the MCAT, but realized the next spring that medical school wasn't truly her goal. She worked briefly at a non-profit organization before applying and auditioning for a position on the KSCW Crew and The Weekend Crew Show. Being offered the job, she jumped at the chance to move back to Wichita and learn the ropes at the #1 station in the market.
Now working as both a co-host of The Weekend Crew Show and the morning traffic reporter, Katie loves collaborating with so many groups at the station. She's loved learning more about her hometown and looks forward to meeting more amazing Kansans. When she's not at work, though, you can find her spending time with loved ones. She especially enjoys hanging out at the lake and playing with her mom's boxer pups, Winston and Izzy. She also loves reading, blogging, and watching the latest "Mad Men" and "House of Cards" episodes with her fiance, Spencer!
