(RILEY COUNTY, Kan.) -

Opening statements started Friday in the case of Antonio Brown.  Brown is charged with killing his girlfriend's son Clayden Urbanek.

Police say Clayden died from injuries relating to internal bleeding and broken ribs.  He was 14-months-old.
    
Brown is charged with first degree murder and child abuse.  He also faces escape from custody charges after he walked out of the Saline County Jail.  He later turned himself in to a US Marshall.
    
The trial is being held in Riley County.  A judge granted a change of venue due to publicity of the trial.
