TOPEKA, Kan. -

A baby falcon that fell several stories from a downtown building in Topeka after Saturday night's storms, is back home.

Joule, one of the female chicks in Westar Energy's next box, fell 12 stories when severe storms hit the area. Westar said a staff member from the Topeka Zoo picked it up last night, and reunited the bird with its family Sunday morning.

Brad Loveless, Executive Director for Environmental Services, said in an email the bird seems to be recovering, and the family is okay.

"Once returned to the nest box, Joule began to screech for something to eat," Loveless said.
