One of the nation's largest banks is moving out of western and parts of central Kansas.
One Bank of America building in Dodge City is up for sale, the other location will be closed early in 2015.
It is the last of the bank's Kansas branches west of I-135. Beginning next month, branches in Hays, Lindsborg, Junction City, Liberal, Great Bend, McPherson and Hutchinson will either close or transfer ownership.
If customers want to visit a location in Kansas, there will still be Bank of America branches in Kansas City, Topeka, Wichita and Lawrence.
A Bank of America spokesperson tells Eyewitness News the moves are driven by a decrease in customers visiting banks.
More customers are opting for mobile and online banking services instead.
