Firefighters from El Dorado and five other county departments responded to an out of control – controlled burn near 30th and Boyer.
Despite twenty-six mile per hour winds, quick work by firefighters, the land fill on the southern side, and some green broam grass on the eastern side, the grass fire was brought under control Monday afternoon.
A fire department spokesman said approximately 300 acres of pasture, 40 large round bales, and numerous fence posts were burned. El Dorado firefighters also put out a small grass fire on Topeka and 30th Street. The crew extinguished the fire quickly and joined firefighters on Boyer and 30th. No one was hurt and a damage estimate not immediately available.
