A chase in Arkansas City leads to an arrest in the case of a stolen motorcycle in Wichita.

Ark City Police arrested Matthew Silver Hurlburt, El Dorado, and charged him with felony possession of stolen property, misdemeanor possession of stolen property, obstruct legal process, driving while revoked, habitual violator and several other traffic related offenses.

The Arkansas City Police Department said they received information Friday that the stolen motorcycle was possibly in the area. Around 7:30 p.m., an officer saw a motorcycle matching the description near 6th St. and Kansas Ave. A man was driving with a woman as a passenger.  

The officer attempted to stop the stolen motorcycle, but police said the driver refused to stop. The motorcycle lost control in the front yard of a house after a short chase. Officers said the driver ran away before being taken into custody.

The woman passenger received minor injuries. She and the driver were treated by EMS and refused transport.

Matthew Silver Hurlburt is currently being held in the Cowley County Jail.
