Its believed damage at two businesses near the Sedgwick County Fair Grounds will most likely go above a quarter million dollars.

The businesses, Neal Chance Racing Converters and Clupny Custom Carpentry sustained fire, smoke and water damage during the blaze near East South Avenue and Garfield Street Wednesday night.

The fire burned about two hours. There were chemicals inside the businesses that caused several explosions. No one was hurt. Cheney Fire Chief Brad Ewy said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
