COWLEY COUNTY, Kan. -

A Cowley County inmate who failed to return from a work-release program is back in custody.

Sheriff Don Read, Cowley County, said Dustin Daniels escaped from custody New Year's Eve.

Daniels was sentenced Dec. 9 for misdemeanor theft, misdemeanor criminal use of a financial card and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

Daniels was arrested in Wichita Saturday. He is being held on a warrant at the Sedgwick County Jail.
