DERBY, Kan. -

A Derby Walmart was evacuated for a couple of hours while authorities investigated a reported bomb threat.

Chief Robert Lee, Derby Police, said a man called the retail store about 6 p.m. Friday demanding money. The caller indicated a device inside the store would explode if demands were not met.

The store was evacuated and bomb-detecting dogs from McConnell Air Force Base were called to the scene to check out building. The Wichita bomb squad was  not been called to assist.

An all clear was given around 9:30 p.m. The store reopened a short time later.

Police ask the public's help in locating suspect by calling Crime Stoppers or Derby 911.
