The condition of an American missionary who contracted Ebola has worsened, according to Society for International Ministries.

Nancy Writebol contracted Ebola while serving in Liberia. She was working  alongside Dr. Kent Brantly, and another joint team of people, when they contracted Ebola.

SIM says Writebol is in stable, but serious condition and is receiving an experimental drug that doctors hope will better address her condition. Her husband, David, is close by.

She and her husband David have been serving as missionaries in Africa for about 13 years. One of their sons lives in Washington while their other son, Jeremy Writebol, lives and works as a church pastor in Wichita.
