A family pleasure trip ended with a thud, after a crash landing of a small plane at the Concordia Airport Monday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pilot was attempting to land on the runway at the Concordia Airport, went off the runway, and the plane flipped over on its top in a field.

Troopers said the 64 year-old pilot, a grandfather, his son and his two children were aboard the single engine Cessna.  All were buckled up at the time of the crash.

The grandfather and his 47 year-old son were taken to Cloud County Health Center, where they were treated and released. The children, ages 5-and-7, were not hurt.
