A 66-year-old Kansas man dies in an accident on Interstate-70 earlier this afternoon.
It happened a little before 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 16. John Cooper, Colby, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says Cooper's vehicle was westbound on I-70 when it left the road. It continued into a ditch and up an embankment. KHP says Cooper then struck a bridge under the overpass where the vehicle came to rest.
Cooper was wearing a seatbelt.
