First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver a commencement address to seniors graduating from Topeka West High School, Highland park High School, Topeka High School, Hope Street Academy and Capital City Schools.
The First Lady is only scheduled to give three speeches at graduation ceremonies, with Topeka ask the only high school commencement.
All institutions she will be speaking at support her higher education initiative to help America reach the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.
She will speak to nearly 1,000 seniors at the Kansas Expocentre, May 17. The date marks the 60th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Brown vs. Board of Education in Topeka.
It will begin at 1 p.m. at Landon Arena. It will feature all graduating seniors from Topeka Public Schools. However, Hope Street will hold it's own separate commencement ceremony on May 14.
