Two fishermen are credited with saving a man after he accidentally drove his car into Cheney Lake.
Authorities were called to the scene on the east shore just after 10 p.m. Saturday.
Mike Satterlee, park ranger, said the man got turned around, and drove down a boat ramp into the water near Mr. D's.
Three other passengers managed to escape, but the driver could not get out. Two fishermen rescued the man by breaking a window, Satterlee said.
"They were able to grab some tools from inside of their truck," he said. "I believe it was a crescent wrench, they shattered the window, and with the glass being tempered and tented it didn't break out. At that point the male that was inside the vehicle was able to kick the window out from inside, and that's how he was able to get out of the vehicle."
EMS treated the driver and the three passengers at the scene for minor cuts and bruises. Everyone is expected to be okay.
Satterlee said this is the second time a car has accidentally drove into the water at this location this year.
No names have been released.
