HUTCHINSON, Kan. -

Fire investigators have ruled a fire that damaged two homes in Hutchinson overnight as arson.

Hutchinson Fire Department responded to K-61 and Lorraine Street, where a vacant two story home and a mobile home burned about 3:09 Thursday morning.

Fire investigators said both houses had been vacant for some time. No one was hurt. Crews brought the house fire under control within 30 minutes.

Crews allowed the mobile home to burn. A fire department spokesman said the mobile home was difficult to get to because it was surrounded by a plowed field.

Deputy Fire Chief Doug Hansen said the fires are considered suspicious and are currently under investigation with assistance from the Reno County Sheriff's Department. No arrests have been made.
