HUTCHINSON, Kan. -

The Hutchinson Fire Department has ruled a garage fire that broke out in Hutchinson early Tuesday morning as intentional.

Investigators say there were at least two points where the fire may have started. They are still investigating to find out how and why.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Doug Haney, six units were called out to the in the 600 block of Carey Street shortly before 5:00 a.m.

The garage was full of fire when crews arrived. They were able to control it in about 30 minutes. Crews stayed on the scene to make sure no hot spots flared up.

Fire officials are still trying to determine the extent of the damage, but they know the garage is a complete loss. A residence located underneath the garage, an outbuilding and a vehicle sustained moderate damage.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.
