GARDEN CITY, Kan. -

A new golf event could bring an economic boost to Garden City. The Symetra Tour announced today they have finalized their 2014 schedule, adding the Garden City Classic to its list.

The Symetra Tour is the official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA.

The event will be played at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Club in Garden City, from September 11-13. The addition of Garden City into the tour makes it the most events that will be played during Symetra in the last 13 years.

Bret Lasky is the coordinator with Symetra Tour Media. He says some of the top women's golfers will be competing for a total purse of $100,000 with the winners share set at $15,000.

Garden City is one of the smallest cities on the tour. Other hosting cities include Los Angeles and New York City. The Symetra Tour is expected to bring about $500 thousand dollars to the local economy.
