CHICAGO (AP) - Unexplained rash? Check your iPad. It turns out the popular tablet computer may contain nickel, one of the most common allergy-inducing metals.

According to a report in Monday's Pediatrics, an Apple iPad caused an itchy body rash in an 11-year-old boy recently treated at a San Diego hospital.

CBS News (http://cbsn.ws/1jIvbgB) reports the boy got better when he put the device in a protective case.

It is unknown if all iPad models or other Apple devices contain nickel.

Nickel rashes have been linked to other commonly used products including jewelry, zippers and some eyeglass frames.
