SALINA, Kan. -

A reward is now being offered to individuals who may know about the numerous firearms that were stolen from a sporting goods store in Salina last week. The Salina Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced Monday that up to $5,000 will be given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft.

Employees discovered the burglary on April 14. They believe Cleve's Marine and Sporting Goods was burglarized sometime during the night.

Saline Police investigated the scene and determined that numerous firearms had been stolen.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867) or the Salina Police Department at 785-826-7210.

Nearly 150 guns were stolen Monday from a Salina Sporting Goods store according to our news partners at the Salina Journal.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney said someone broke into Cleve's Marine and Sporting Goods sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Monday. He also says they disabled the alarm.

Sweeney said they estimate that 100-200 handguns had been stolen as well as 20 semi-automatic rifles, a dozen knives and $74 in cash.

An estimated $5,000 worth of ammunition of various sizes were also missing.

The Salina Journal reports that police are working to get the serial numbers of the missing guns so they can be entered into the national stolen guns database.

Sweeney estimated the total loss at $50,000 or more.
