EDSON, Kan. -

A motorcycle accident in western Kansas has injured a Harper couple.

It happened on I-70, about six miles east of Kansas Highway 253 near Edson, just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol 57-year-old Frederick Yoder, was riding westbound when his rear tire suddenly deflated, causing him to lose control.

The motorcycle entered the north ditch and laid over, the report said.

The Salina Journal reports Yoder and a passenger on the bike, Meredith D. Yoder, 53, were taken to Goodland Medical Center with injuries.

The couple were not wearing safety helmets, the report said.
