Basketball fans from Kansas are getting ready to head to St. Louis. Wichita State University, University of Kansas and Kansas State University will all tip-off in St. Louis and each team will bring thousands of fans with them. As of Monday morning many of those fans are having a tough time finding a place to stay.

Eyewitness news reporter Hannah Davis spent several hours Monday morning looking into prices for hotel stay. The only hotel she could find that still had openings in downtown was the Sheraton and rooms were going for $304 a night.

The Best Western has vacancies at their hotels outside the city. Many of those locations are more than 20 miles from downtown.

Wichita State's alumni association has put together travel packages but they do not include tickets to the games. On stubhub ticket prices range from $300 to around $2,600. The online coupon site "groupon" is offering a deal through midnight Monday.

Whether traveling fans choose to drive, take a bus or plane they should make arrangements soon, because the longer they wait the pricier their trip will become.
