SALINA, Kan. -

Kansas representative, Tim Huelskamp spoke to Veterans of Foreign War members in Salina this morning.

Huelskamp says the United States needs to form an independent commission to review the current veteran system and push through reforms.

State commander of the V.F.W, Ray Calore, says he is disgusted with the current situation.

"Here we are, come back broken both mentally and physically," Calore said. "And we just can't go in and get a simple appointment done."

Commander Rolf of the Kansas V.F.W. says congressional leaders need to act in order to make changes and hold the V.A. accountable.

"It's disheartening to a lot of our members and our family members," Calore said.
