GREAT BEND, Kan. -

The Humane Society is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the killing and decapitation of a cat in Great Bend.

According to the Great Bend Police Department, last week a male cat was found on the 1400 block of 12th Street in Great Bend with his front leg and head cut off.

“People who perpetrate crimes against animals rarely stop there,” said Midge Grinstead, The HSUS’ Kansas state director. “I hope this reward helps law enforcement identify and convict someone for this crime.”

Anyone with information about the cat is asked to call the Great Bend Police Department at (620) 793-4120.
