HUTCHINSON, Kan. -

A Hutchinson man is arrested after police say he called 911 on himself.

Detectives say David Wiggs called police Wednesday morning to report a burglary at his neighbor's home on West 6th Ave.

Someone tried to kick the door in. That didn't work, so they broke a window and stole a few cartons of cigarettes.

After a short investigation, the officer determined Wiggs was the one who actually broke into the home.

He was arrested and booked on burglary, criminal damage to property and drug charges.

Police believe Wiggs reported the break-in so he wouldn't be suspected of committing the crime.
