Sunflower Broadcasting offers a year-round college internship program for students with career goals in broadcasting and communications with emphasis in news, sales, marketing, production, weather and sports.  Sunflower also has internship opportunities with our Spanish-language station, KDCU, in news, production, sales and marketing.

The aim of the internship program is to expose students to the daily demands and challenges of a commercial broadcasting operation. Internships will be "hands-on" and tailored to individual interests, training and talents.

Assignments will likely include the following, but are not limited to: contributing and researching story ideas; updating website content; scheduling and booking guests; writing stories.

Although the duration varies, the typical internship is 6-12 weeks.

Starting Summer 2014, we are offering two paid internships in our News Department and one paid internship in our Sports Department (hired spring 2014, internship to be carried out Fall 2014). We also offer non-paid internships. All internships must be for university/college credit only. Apply here.

Interns will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will be arranged by the intern, the internship coordinator and the intern's academic advisor.

Those participating in the internship program must understand that no guarantees are given for future employment. Sunflower Broadcasting may terminate internship at any time for any reason.
