KINGMAN, Kan. -

A small town police chief is taken off duty and people living in the community are left wondering why.

Kingman Police Chief Marc Holloway is being investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. He was put on administrative leave Thursday evening. Circumstances of the investigation are not currently being released.

A spokesperson for KBI confirmed it is handling the investigation, but would not give any other details.

Eyewitness News Reporter Lauren Seabrook went to Kingman City Hall for a comment from the city manager but he was out of town. She also stopped by the city attorney's office where the assistant city attorney confirmed the investigation, but told us he could not discuss the details because it involves personnel.

We are told while the chief is on administrative leave, Kingman officers will follow the "chain of command" until the investigation is complete. Eyewitness News will continue to follow the investigation.
