WICHITA, Kan. -

A locally owned radio station has confirmed long-time personality Tim Peters has died.

Belinda Atteberry, LITE 99.7 General Manager, said Peters died Tuesday.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that legendary radio broadcast veteran, Tim Peters, passed away earlier today," she said in a news release. "Tim's family, friends and the 99.7 LITE FM team are heartbroken and ask for privacy today as we all come to terms with this news."

Service arrangements have not been announced. Atteberry said the family is awaiting autopsy results.

Dan Holiday will anchor a special live tribute with Gayla Crouse from 6 to 9 a.m. Wednesday. The broadcast on 99.7 FM will be streamed online. Listeners can email their tributes to Local@LiteWichita.com.
