WICHITA, Kan. -

Wichita hospitals say they're nearing capacity with flu patients and those experiencing other respiratory illnesses.

A spokeswoman with Via Christi hospital says that's added to patients who are in the hospital for other reasons.

Hospital staff is asking the public to use a primary physician, or immediate care facilities, for non-emergency needs.

They are asking that visits be limited, especially for children, as to not spread germs. Good hygiene, such as hand-washing and hand-sanitizing can help keep the germs contained.
