The Kansas Attorney General's Office has filed murder charges against a man accused of killing an unborn baby.
In a complaint filed Tuesday, prosecutors said Scott Bollig poisoned a pregnant woman Jan. 26. Court documents indicate Bollig put a crushed form of medication into a pancake that the woman later digested.
The woman was 8 to 10 weeks pregnant. Prosecutors said the unborn baby died as a result of the adulterated food. The woman survived.
Bollig faces first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, and distribution of adulterated food charges.
Bollig remains jailed. A preliminary hearing date has not been scheduled.
