UPDATE: The standoff ended at around 11 o'clock Sunday night. Butler County Deputies say Roger Pierce Jr. was taken to the hospital to be treated for self-inflicted gunshot wound to the side of his face.

Possible charges are pending.

Authorities in Butler County are working to negotiate with a man barricaded in his home near Circle High School.

It began Sunday afternoon in the Pine Ridge Mobile Home Community near Beaver and Wilson.

Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet said the man is believed to be armed. A woman and children made it out of the home unharmed.

Nearby homes have been evacuated while SWAT team members try to get the man out of the home safely. No one is being allowed in to the mobile home park during the standoff.

It is unknown what sparked the standoff.
