MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. -

A trial date has been scheduled for a man charged in an accident that injured a McPherson teacher.

Mija Stockman was driving to work Dec. 20 when another car lost control on the ice, crossing the center lane and hit her head on. Jeffrey Davis of Hesperia, Calif. was driving the other car.

Paul Davis faces drunk driving and aggravated battery charges in the accident.

The crash fractured Stockman's skull, causing swelling in her brain. She remains hospitalized in Nebraska.

Another woman, Pamela Pjesky was also hurt in the crash. She was in a third vehicle that stuck Davis' truck after the first accident.

Davis has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He will return to court April 9 for trial.

He remains jailed on $25,000 bond.
