WICHITA, Kan. -

Wichita Police are searching for an armed man who tried to rob a southeast Wichita convenience store at gun point.

It happened in the 1200 block of East Pawnee just before 8:30 p.m. Dispatchers said a masked man entered the store demanding money.

The suspect ran out of the building after firing two shots in the business. He did not leave with money from the store.

The robber is described as a black man about 5'9" to 5'11" tall, wearing a black or red shirt, black jeans, black shoes and black mask. Witnesses said the man had a black handgun.

The manager of the store and an employee were both inside at the time of the incident. Neither of were hurt.

Anyone with information in the crime is asked to call police.
