WICHITA, Kan. -

The full budget for the Wichita School District won't be presented for another few weeks, but it could come with some added relief to homeowners.

The mill levy is going to go down.

That change is due to legislative changes made at the state level this past session.

We USD 259's Chief Financial Officer what the 3.5 mill dip means for Wichitans.

"For a homeowner, if you have a $100k house, that's about $41 a month in lower property taxes," said Jim Freeman. "So you can multiply that by the amount so it's going to be some relief for just about everybody."

The budget was originally on the agenda Monday night, but it was removed because it wasn't complete and ready to be presented just yet.

The full budget will be presented on August 11.
