MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. -

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has released the name of the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Montgomery County.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the county just before 6 p.m. Sunday. A person inside the home was said to be armed.

A Kansas Highway Patrol motor carrier inspector arrived at the scene to assist local authorities. After locating the suspect, shots were fired.

The suspect, identified Michael Kleinbeck, 52, died at the scene. An autopsy will be performed in Kansas City.

No officers were hurt in the shooting.

The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave while the case remains under investigation by the KBI.
