SALINA, Kan. -

The Salina National Guard will be replacing most of its helicopter fleet after 35 years.

The UH-60M, built in 2013, will replace 80% of the UH-60A helicopters that are currently in use.

The new model includes upgraded equipment, advanced electronics and communications.

A full autopilot will allow Soldiers greater safety in landing in low visibility.

The newer models will require less maintenance and lower operation costs.

The UH-60M is expected to offer crews flying the aircraft a better, all-around experience.
