WICHITA, Kan. -

Wichita Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in North Wichita just a block from Wichita State's campus.

The shooting happened at around 2:30 am near 16th and Hillside.  Someone heard a gunshot and called police.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man in his 30's with a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where he was later upgraded to stable.

Police aren't sure what led up to the shooting.  There's no word on a possible suspect in the shooting. They're asking for the public's help in solving this case.

The victim said he doesn't know the shooter. If anyone has any information, you're asked to call police.
