WICHITA, Kan. -

A motorcycle rider injured in a north Wichita crash has been identified as a Valley Center man.

It happened on I-235 near the Meridian exit around 6:15 p.m. Sunday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Robert Holdt left the roadway for an unknown reason.

His motorcycle then struck the guardrail. Holdt was thrown from his bike.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where he remains in critical condition.

The roadway was closed for a couple of hours while crews cleared the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
