WICHITA, Kan -

The consultants for Wichita's performing arts assessment have launched a survey to receive input from organizations and artists that have an interest in using the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center - or a potential new arts center - as a site for their current or future events.

All responses received by Wednesday, Feb. 12 will be incorporated.

The assessment is being conducted by AMS Planning & Research for the Arts and Entertainment Industries (AMS) out of South Port, Conn., and its partner Fisher Dachs Associates (FDA), headquartered in New York.  It is being funded through a partnership between the Arts Council, Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau, Music Theatre of Wichita, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Wichita Grand Opera.

"Survey responses are critical to the success of this assessment," said Arts Council President Sharon Fearey. "We need as many responses as possible and encourage the arts community to spread the word."

Feedback from the community will help the AMS and FDA team assess the best approach to serve the future performing arts and entertainment needs of the Wichita community, including the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center.

The performing arts assessment is one piece of a comprehensive plan to maximize Wichita's ability to attract performing arts/entertainment events to bolster tourism and the local economy.
