Wichita police are investigating after a man says he was shot while driving his vehicle near the intersection of Central and Washington Wednesday evening.
Emergency dispatch received a call around 7:45 p.m. from a tow-truck driver saying he had been shot after a vehicle pulled up next to him and began firing. The 48-year-old man drove himself to the Via Christi St. Francis where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm and lower back. The victim has since been upgraded to fair condition.
Police were able to investigate the scene and find 3 shell casings.
The victim says he doesn't know the shooters or what led up to the incident. Hunt says police are collecting video surveillance from nearby stores to help locate suspects.
Wichita Police are looking for an unknown black man in his 20s, wearing black clothes and a red and black baseball hat. The suspect was last seen driving a white Pontiac.
