WICHITA, Kan. -

A 26-year-old man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a man died during a race in Wichita.

Dacosta Yankey was charged in Sedgwick County Court Friday in the death of 26-year-old Jorge Espinosa-Velez.

Wichita police believe racing lead to the deadly crash at Douglas and Market in January.  Police say the Espinosa-Velez lost control, spun out and hit a pilar. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger riding with Espinosa-Velez was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.

Yankey was driving a separate car that was involved in the race. He has been released from custody on a $25,000 bond.
