Around 40,000 car seats are being recalled. They're the ProSPORT Model 385.
The manufacturer, Recaro, was testing the product when it discovered a child's head would not be secure enough in a crash. The company says it happens when you rely on the latch belt only and do not use the top tether.
The company issued a letter to customers with a repair kit. It includes a new instruction manual and a label to remind users to properly restrain the child.
