WICHITA, Kan. -

Three people have been hurt, two with potentially serious injuries, after accident in south Wichita.

Dispatchers said two people were pinned in wreckage near 23rd and Alfalfa, just after 5 p.m. Monday. Police said three cars were involved in a crash at the intersection.

Sgt. Bob Gulliver, Wichita Police, said one vehicle was traveling east, another was turning from westbound onto Alfalfa, and struck the car causing it to roll over.

A 7-year-old boy and 32-year-old woman were taken to Via Christi St. Francis. Another person has minor injuries. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

One of the drivers exited one of the wrecked vehicles and got into a witness' vehicle and drove away from the scene. The driver was involved in another accident a short time later.

The driver, a woman, was arrested.

Police are investigating why the woman was trying to get away from the original accident scene.
