SALINA,Kan.- -

Saline County Commissioners voted to let the public decide whether to expand the board from three members to five.

A group called the Saline County Citizens for Responsible Government asked the commissioners in early July to put it on the ballot.

The group needed roughly 1,600 signatures to get it on the ballot. Nearly 2,700 signed the petition.

Supporters say the Commissioners' past actions prove more representation is needed.

Opponents argue voters already have their say when voting commissioners into office.

The measure will be placed on the general election ballot, which is Nov. 4.
