After two years of waiting the Saline County Health Department finally has a home. It is returning to it’s old building on West Elm Street.
Monday was the first move-in day. Health Department staff, sheriff's department trustees and community corrections people spent the day moving. The original timeline was to be done by Friday, but they are running ahead of schedule and may be done by Wednesday. Because of the move, WIC and clinic services have been shut down till Monday.
The health department was forced to move out of the original building in 2012 over concerns that the roof might collapse. After much debate between the city and the county, the county decided to renovate the building.
