SALINA, Kan. -

One man has been arrested after security concerns at a Salina school.

Schilling Elementary School was under "heightened security" Thursday morning following a domestic dispute and possible shots fired in the 1300 block of Schilling Road.

Police said the dispute was between a husband and wife. The 61-year-old woman was able to get away from the home and is now getting medical attention for facial fractures and a brain bleed.

Salina police searched for the woman's husband, who had left the home. She told police  may have been armed with knives from the home. They later located him hiding underneath a truck down the street.

Christopher Walters, 52, was booked on aggravated battery and criminal threat charges.

At first, we were told the school was under "lockdown", but the district later clarified and said it was just under "heightened security."
