Dozens ticketed in seatbelt saturation patrol
Dozens of Sedgwick County drivers started their weekend off with a ticket for not buckling up. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office conducted a seatbelt enforcement patrol between 6 and 10 p.m. Friday.
During that time, 30 people were cited for seatbelt violations. Three more were arrested for driving on a suspended license, four were arrested on warrants and one person was arrested on drug charges. In addition to the arrests and seatbelt tickets, thirteen other citations were written for various traffic violations.
The saturation patrol consisted of one sergeant, five deputies and two reserve deputies. It was paid for through a Kansas Department of Transportation grant.
